Dr. Brian J. Jackson is a native of Utica, New York and graduated from Utica College with a B.S. degree in biology, Cum Laude. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at SUNY/Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Jackson completed post-graduate training at St.Luke’s Memorial Hospital Center’s General Practice Residency Program. He completed his formal oral implantology training at New York University, School of Dentistry. In 1999, Dr. Jackson was awarded the 5th District Dental Society young Dentist Excellence Award encompassing dentists in eight counties including Utica and Syracuse. This award is given to an individual for excellence in community service, dental society activities and patient care. Dr. Jackson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID). The ABOI/ID was chartered in 1968 to measure the practitioner’s in depth knowledge, proficiency, skills and experience required for comprehensive, safe and effective oral implant care for the public. The ABOI/ID Diplomate designation symbolizes the highest level of competence in implant dentistry..
Established in 1951, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) is the world’s oldest professional organization dedicated to the advancement of oral implantology. The AAID maintains a standardized peer-reviewed examination process granting the status of Fellow following successful written and oral examinations. Dr. Jackson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). Diplomates and Fellows have been certified by their peers and have met national standards of education and practice in oral implantology.
Dr. Jackson has presented oral implantology lectures to various groups locally, as well as, at the 2002 annual global conference for the AAID in Los Angeles, CA, and the 54th Annual Meeting in New York City in 2004. The topic that Dr. Jackson presented was “Occlusal Considerations for Implant Supported Prosthesis.” In 2007, Dr. Jackson lectured in Mumbai, India as part of a conference titled “Enriching Talent with Innovations”sponsored by the India International Dental Congress, New York University and the AAID. In 2013, Dr. Jackson lectured in Philadelphia as part of a conference dedicated to treatment of the atrophic patient. His presentation was titled: “Treatment Plan Consideration and Reconstruction of the Posterior Maxilla”. In 2014, Dr. Jackson presented an all day lecture titled: “Treatment of the Edentulous Patient: The Synergy of Conventional and Small Diameter Implants” at the Southern Illinois Dental Society Annual Meeting. In addition, he has joined the faculty of the India, Las Vegas and New York Maxicourse in Oral Implantology.
Dr. Jackson is a senior opinion leader and lecturer for the dental division of 3M ESPE. He was the lead author in the development of the MDI Expanded Indications Training Seminar protocol as well as a co-author in the Mini Dental Implant certification program for 3M ESPE. Dr. Jackson developed the program’s didactic content, and insight for long term success of mini dental implants through his case presentations.
Currently, he serves on the New York State Peer Review Committee, and is Past President of the Northeast District of the AAID, as well as, Past President of the Oneida-Herkimer County Dental Society.
Dr. Jackson is an attending staff dentist for Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare General Practice Residency Program. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and a Fellow- American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).
In 2003, Dr. Jackson was asked to serve on the board of trustees at Utica College and remains active on the Health Science’s Professional committee at the college.
In 2013, Dr. Jackson was granted the distinction of “Honored Fellow” at the AAID annual meeting in Washington, D.C. The Honored Fellow award has been granted to less than 1% of the membership of the AAID. The award honors individuals for their service, clinical, and educational contributions.
Currently, Dr. Jackson is a Board of Trustee for the AAID and Treasurer of the AAID Foundation. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Oral Implantology.
Although Dr. Jackson has a strong interest in Dental Implants, he is committed to his General Dentistry practice focusing on restorative (Fillings), cosmetics, extractions, and all aspects of General Dentistry.
CNY Study Club
The CNY Implant Study Club is affiliated with the AAID. The Club meets three times a year in the evening to discuss topics related to implant dentistry. The Club is open to general dentists, specialists, laboratory technicians, dental hygienists, dental assistants and related team members.

Dr. Ronald Goldstone ’55 Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established by Utica College trustee Brian J. Jackson ’85 D.D.S. along with family and friends, in memory of former Utica College Foundation Board member Dr. Ronald J. Goldstone ’55. It is awarded to a full time student entering his or her junior or senior year who demonstrates a strong professional commitment and a GPA of 3.0 or greater, majoring in pre-dental studies. The Pre-Professional Health Committee on the basis of the above mentioned academics and ethical criteria shall select from the candidates recommended by the Office of Financial Aid.
