Many people who suffer from TMJ dysfunction problems remain undiagnosed for years, often experiencing the frustration of a lengthy medical merry-go-round. For over 25 years, our TMJ patients have benefited from our expertise in restoring them to normal pain-free jaw function.
Sleep Apnea
Sleep Apnea is a common medical condition which is often undiagnosed. It involves repeated cessation of breathing during sleep with very serious cardiovascular, GI and psycho-social consequences. However, the symptoms are often limited only to snoring and excessive day-time sleepiness.
Once diagnosed at a sleep center, the gold standard of treatment is use of a Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP) machine during sleep. Though very effective, many individuals are unwilling to initiate CPAP therapy or find it uncomfortable, cumbersome or inconvenient.
For these patients, treatment with an oral appliance has been shown to be an easily tolerated and effective alternative.
